Techniquest is pleased to say that not only has the design and manufacture of the Lightning Strike exhibit been completed with help from EADS and Wayne Strattman, it has also travelled to both the Farnborough and Berlin Airshows.
Possibly the first exhibit of its kind, the Lightning Strike exhibit showcases how planes are able to continue to fly despite being struck by lightning, on average once per year.
EADS in Newport and Cardiff University are currently researching new methods of protecting future planes from lightning strike. Techniquest is delighted to be able to show off this work on our own exhibition floor in Cardiff Bay.
